Must Have ... Most Used Appliance.I had 4 wok (2 electric) and none of them can compare with the Breville.This is truly the greatest (with apologies to Alice Cramden), All I Breville products are the best in their category. Breville built better and perform better than anything else in their class. I know this sounds like I am a major shareholder of the company Breville, but alas, this is not true. I fully recommend Breville EW30XL Electric Gourmet Wok.
Very High Quality: Here's How to Care for It.We have used Breville EW30XL Electric Gourmet Wok in an office to make lunches for the employees for the past 14 months. I posted the photo of the empty wok (see more images of the customer "click to see - is the third picture). You can see that the Teflon is discolored, but it is absolutely in perfect condition. We just turn up and leave it there and fry away. We use four days a week, every week.
Some others said that the teflon is scratched or flaked off, but I can not imagine more abuse than we have in this office and our Teflon had no problems at all. BUT, do three things: 1) use only wood or silicone utensils, 2) we let it cool before cleaning, and 3) we have purified from A) by wiping with a paper towel, B) wiping with a soapy sponge, then squeeze the towel and C) Wipe with a damp cloth, not sponge and soap. Most people make the mistake of cleaning when it's hot, or Teflon overcleaning. We just want to clean teflon: it lasted a lot longer this way. Just a couple of wet fast - perhaps 20 seconds in all. Our life has never been in the sink. And he still performs like the day we bought it: no attacks at all.
Breville EW30XL Electric Gourmet Wok is one of the highest quality products I have ever bought. I have nothing but All-Clad pans so my standards are higher. Do not abuse this thing when you clean and last long. 4 times a week for 60 weeks means that we have used this thing about 240 times. Still plays like the day we bought.
